Bermello Ajamil & Partners collaborated on master plans for the passenger terminal at Freeport International in Grand Bahamas. Overall, eight schemes were developed and evaluated within a 30-day fast-track time frame.
Grand Bahama Airport Company commissioned a master plan for the construction of new hotels and resorts expected to increase air traffic coming into Freeport. The plan was divided into airside (facilities and areas in the terminal apron of the airport) and landside (processing and servicing passenger areas as well as parking facilities).
The program incorporated airport ticket counters, immigration offices, customs centers, baggage and handling facilities, passenger holding areas, concession stands, special service rooms, first class lounges, restrooms and ground transportation services.
